Connector Dedicated Tools

Tools for connectors are used to perform tasks such as insulation displacement and crimping on connectors used in machinery and electrical and electronic devices. IDC tools that are shaped like pliers are used by first placing the contact on the tip and closing the handles to crimp. Connectors are available in various types and sizes, and tools should be selected to match the contacts and cables, as well as their manufacturers and sizes. A tool can be used with different size connectors by exchanging the die, an apparatus that is clamped into the tool. Other tools include tools that minimize strain on the contacts when inserting and extracting and jigs for crimping the IDC portion, and it is important to check the applicable sizes when using any of these tools.
